    OLD Versions

    AIX 5.2 ML8
    HACMP 5.2

AIX upgraded successfully to 5.3 TL6

When i tried to upgrade HACMP to 5.4.... oh my god. The installation of filesets run without error but when i tried to access the HACMP configuration ....i took the following errors:

    1800-106 An error occurred: │
    │ │
│ Error: Can not get objects from class HACMPsite: 0519-011 libodm: The │

I found from internet a workaround which mention a similar problem..and it solved with patching HACMP with SP. I download SP4 and run it...the paching completed with success without solving my problem...

    ANY EXTRA OPINION? HELP THANX

@I cannot remove hacmp configuration.....see above.

@I tried to remove the hacmp software ..but it says that it must remove extra pre-require filesets (which i believe that they are important for my system) so i cannot proceed with that.

But I think that you probably need to call support.

I am not certain from your description if you have followed the upgrade paths listed
    in the PowerHA documentation.

I think that what you have is HACMP 5.2 ODMs, and HACMP 5.4 software.

You will also need to be specific with what you mean by "access the cluster"

Do you mean running cluster start?

Also, you will need to specify what version of 5.4 you have. Do you have 5.4.1.0 or 5.4.0.0?
Did you install from a 5.4.1.0 CD?

I apologize that I can't offer more help in this newsgroup, but I think you have entered into a
complex problem that you will need support help in resolving.
(If you haven't called them already)

    Hope this helps,
    Casey

I also ran into issues in a situation involving greater than 16 Resource groups. It was such a headache that for several 5.2 clusters, I simply removed HACMP 5.2 and did a scratch install of 5.4 and reconfigured. It took less time than the hoops I had to go through with support. Good luck.
