Upgrade Vs Side by side - 6.5 to 7.1.2

  • 1.  Upgrade Vs Side by side - 6.5 to 7.1.2

    Hi,
We are planning to upgrade the intergration server version 6.5 to 7.1.2 as of now.
Because my client is has the lincense of 7.1.2 only.
Currently we are using only WM components Developer & Integration server
We have around 50 interfaces and all the transactions related to FTP only. (means source is FTP & target in FTP)
and storing audit & error logs in file systems only.
Please advise me the approache (side by side migration (or) upgrade over exising version) to complete the migration faster.
As per the WM documentation (6.5 to 7.1.2) , I found only 5 WM built in services (are deprecated) which are using in our project.

    Regards,
    Shekhar

There is no option of on-top migration between 6.5 and 7.1.2. You have to take the approach of Side by Side migration only. If you are on wM 6.5 SP2, it is straight forward to migrate to 7.1.2 or 7.1.3. I would suggest you moving to 7.1.3, so that later if they decide to move on to newer versions, you will have direct paths of migration.
