  • 1.  Updating ZD&T to V11.0.2

    Posted Sun January 07, 2018 02:07 AM

We have been running ZD&T V11.0.1 since November (fresh install).

Now V11.0.2 is available and I was wondering if there are any issues or concerns relating to the update process.

I assume the underlining Z/OS system won't be affected by the update or am I wrong assuming that ?

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks....Dani Kalmar

    Hi,

If you are willing to upgrade zD&T tools. Then you should update to 11.0.2. But,if you are looking to update the zDt (ZOS) portion..there is no change.

    Thanks, Neeraj

We updated a couple of our zD&T systems as well as a license server from V10.0.0.0 iFIX1 to V11.02.

We used the 'silent' install method with the upgrade option.  We didn't uninstall the prior V10 release.

How do we verify that we are running V11.02?  I don't see any option to display the level?   If I use the old /opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/tools/imcl -c command and then S option it still shows V10.0.0.0 iFIX1 yet I know peformed the V11.02 install w/ upgrade option and received no errors.

How do we confirm either zD&T system or license server version/release level?

    Thanks,

Please, use the commands and check for the answers in this page: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSTQBD_11.0.0/com.ibm.zdt.install.doc/topics/install_silent_pe.html

I did that.  I find that interrogating for the installed components less than optimal.  Additionally, the lack of removal or update of the prior imcl -c option with information that contradicts the current level less than ideal.

    Why?

In fact, I then checked the link given and the component levels indicated for 11.0.0 are identical to those of 11.0.2 as shown in the document links.

So I reiterate...  How does one easily check the installed version/release/mod level of a zD&T server and/or License Manager.

This needs improvement.  A simple Show or Display Version command would be nice.

Currently this may be a step forward in ease of installation but a huge step backward in suitable methods to verify and validate software installations.

    Best regards,
