The drives are zoned to AIX and show up as available "Other FC SCSI Tape Drive". When I try to access the drive (Outside of Netbackup)using mt,tar,
errors are recorded in errpt as "BA6A5ED2 0320173507 I S rmt2 CONFIGURATION MISMATCH" and the error in errpt -a is "SC_TAPE_ERR7".
IBM Support is unable to help in identifying these errors. The tar finishes fine, and mt works but numerous errors are logged as to the above. Trying to figure out where the problem lies. I cannot find any special device drivers for these drives other than the OST which IBM provides. ATAPE does not help either, (it will not configure to ATAPE). Would appreciate any help in this matter.
    Thanks in advance.

IBM / AIX only tend to support IBM supplied drives, you will need t contact HP for more information.

This is un-supported with FC tape. Were in the testing phase and had these tapes attached to the same HBA's as disk. We changed these settings back to their default values, and the "Configuration mismatch" is corrected. We will move the tapes off of these HBA's and onto their own TAN.
    Thanks Tom
