  • 1.  TL Update Issue

    I have been trying to update to the latest TL and service pack on AIX 5.2. I was at 5200-09-04, and loaded the 5200-09-CSP service pack from IBM, that install went fine. I then downloaded the 5200-10 TL along with the available 5200-10-03-0744 service pack. Everything except four items installed. The troubled packages are expecting a requisite of csm.msg.en_US.core at level 1.4.0.0 to be installed. When I run lslpp to check on what I have, I get this:

    csm.msg.EN_US.core 1.4.0.0 COMMITTED CSM Core Func Msgs - U.S. English (UTF),
    csm.msg.en_US.core 1.3.0.0 COMMITTED CSM Core Func Msgs - U.S. English
    So now I have both the lower case en @ 1.3.0.0 and EN (UTF) @ 1.4.0.0 installed, so where can I get the en update? I am patched up for the most part to 5200-10, but I would still like to resolve this.

    The file is listed for TL 5200-09, but it never got sent to me through the download director when I just now tried to retrieve it?! I still can't get a hold of the csm.msg.en_US.core.1.4.0.0.bff file....

    Watch out when using Download Director on Windows systems: filesets names are case-sensitive and Windows is not, so it won't download files en_US when it got EN_US. Annoying...
