  • 1.  Storage Insights Pro Alerting for PBR /PBHA Replication...

    we have several flash systems running in a PBR and PBHA configuration!

    Does anybody know how to get Alerting out of SI when the Replication lines between two systems go down ?

    We can see it in the Event Log of the system, but we don't get any messages out of SI pro.

    Hi Mark, 
    You can create a new alert definition on your SI Pro. I prefer to use Storage > Performance > Add Metrics > IP Workload (I'm using this for IP replication) > and select "Send" for IP Replication-to-Remote Node Data Rate (MiB/s). Add a metric of "<= 5 MiB/s" and save it. This will send an alert notification if your FlashSystem IP replication rate drops below 5 MiB/s.

    Hi Mark,

    As of today, Storage Insights does not have any explicit alert policy for Replication. Hence we cannot define a specific alert definition for replication.

    With upcoming release of SI we are adding following alerts around replication which would cover for PBHA and PBR in Storage Insights.

    Default Policy:

    • Replication status disconnected
    • Replication status suspended
    • Volume group deletion

    Custom Policy for users to configure:

    • RPO value >= user defined value
