First said it was the fan problem, but as I unplugged the power cables and waited for a while, then plugged in, I could feel the fan on for a moment and went dead again. I noticed that there is three lcd light indicators behind (with sign of IP, ~, !). Only the IP light is on ( my other IBM p550 has these LCD on on ~ and !. The second info said was the problem of the voltage regulator of the Processor that mal-function. So How do I know what really went wrong? what are the meaning of those LCD indicator behind? Very urgent!

To answer your question and not waste your time, like some other people on this forum seem to love to do, you will find the ref codes here:
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/eserver/v1r3s/index.jsp?topic=/ipha6/refcodelist.htm
The codes are in two parts, the first and last four digits.
So click the 1xxx link and then look for the 2630.
Then the links on the right of the 2630 tell you how to deal with the problem.
For your ref code and model p550:
Is the reference code 1xxx 2630?
Yes: The voltage regulator for 1.2 V for processor card 1 is the failing item and needs to be replaced (see Locations 550, 55A, or OpenPower 720 to locate and replace the regulator). This ends the procedure.

I am not the hardware enigineer, and this is my first system crash on any platform. So How do I idntify the SRC in the front panel in general? is always the final number appearing on the left side of the LCD window? because during the boot process, a lot of numbers (8 or 9 digits) are shown. In my case, the number 11002630 just hung there.

The system displays progress codes during the boot process, they indicate what is happening. If the system hangs on a code, look it up and it should give you an idea of what the problem is.

Under noraml configuration, if the system connects to an UPS and normal power is on, which green LCD light should be on (solid green)? My Prod Box only has dc light on, my Dev Box ( the one with bad voltage regulator) has AC light on after repaired.
Actually this instance push me tp learn more of the prevntative skill. According to the docuemnt of IBM POWER 5 series, it provides a warning mechanism called First failure data capture (FFDC) and it even can send out an alert via phone line. However I do not quite understand how it works. Do you know anything about the FFDC? how can I find out the warning log in NVRAM.
