  • 1.  SPSS Rasch analysis: infit and outfit

    Posted Wed March 17, 2021 11:45 PM
    Hi,

I have installed SPSS extensions 'R3.6 configuration' and Rasch model under Scale Menu. It gives coefficients value with standard errors, item fit statistics (chi-square and sig). But it does not show infit and outfit statistics of Rasch model. Is there available SPSS command to get infit and outfit output in SPSS? If yes, please, help me by giving the syntax.

Looking forward to get your kind response.

    Best regards,
    Tasnuva Wahed

There are two RASCH extensions: SPSSINC RASCH and STATS EXRASCH.  The latter is more comprehensive, so if you installed the former, try EXRASCH.

    Dear Jon K Peck,

Thanks so much for your kind suggestion. Yes, I installed the former one earlier. Now I installed STATS_EXRASCH. Although this new extension showed some more information (eg., difficulty parameters with CI) it does not show infit, outfit, residual correlation matrix and Rasch reliability. If this estimates are available with STATS_EXRASCH, do you please, give me the syntax to follow? If no, do you have other extension suggestions?

Looking forward to your kind reply.

    Best regards,
    Tasnuva

The covariance matrix is available from the underlying R package, but it is not exposed in the extension command.  The other statistics are not available from that package.  The authors expressed an intention to add some of these several years ago, but, as far as I can see, that has not happened.  Sorry

Finally I got the infit, outfit output from EXRASCH (see image below). I needed to select MODEL=RM while previously I tried with MODEL=LLTM. Thank you so much for your kind responses.
