  • 1.  SMTP Configuration using Office365 by Enabling TLS

    Hello Team,

    Greetings.

    I am working on configuring the SMTP server using Office365 for triggering the email from the AS400 server to the outlook. 
    To authenticate the Office365 user profile and password the method I am aware of is by going to the Navigator for i and providing the user name and password by selecting the TLS method.
    Unfortunately the OS version of the lpar is V5R4 and I am unable to access the iSeries Navigator.
    Do we have any document link to configure the office365.

    Dear Gudelli

    Please try this IBM Technote : Configuration of the IBM i SMTP Client to Relay Email to Office365 and Gmail.   Keep in mind that this Technote indicates IBM i release 7.1.  Since you are using an unsupported old IBM i release, after you take all actions specified in the Technote and find it does not work, it can mean IBM i V5R4 does not work with this environment.

    Hello Satid,

    Thanks for the update, I have viewed the link which you have shared but as I said the OS version is at V5R4 and unable to access the iSeries navigator using the link htts://IPaddress:2001
    Can you please confirm if there is an alternate approach to access or connect to iSeries navigator for V5R4 servers.
    Else do we have any other way of configuring the SMTP server with TLS enabled apart from using the iSeries Navigator.

    I looked into this Technote on TLS support and found that V5R4 was not indicated in there.
