  • 1.  Secure Data Erase/deletion on older Storwize/Flashsystems

    Hello,

    We are looking into decommissioning some Storwize/Flashystems... I found the "chdrive -erase" command on newer machine/code....

    Can someone tell me from which code  this was implemented and if there is way to erase data on older hardware/code such as 7.8x and prior ?

    From the documentation we can say that the erase operation started in 8.3.x

    Chdrive cannot erase. 
    chdrive can erase drives
    I hope someone else knows how to erase in previous codes to that.

    The "chdrive -erase" command was introduced in later versions of the Storwize/Flashsystems code. Unfortunately, this feature isn't available in older hardware/code like version 7.8x and prior. For assistance with data erasure on those systems, please consult the user documentation or reach out to the vendor's support team. They can provide guidance on the best approach for secure data disposal.
