Need a view point or experience on using searchable ehache.

We want to use ehcache and load “beans” with about 20 values per record. We want to be able to search using a combination of fields from the 20 fields using and / or values (in total about 40 conditions).

Technically this is doable - but is there a downside? We will be hitting cache possibly a million time in a day - but total number of records in cache will not exceed 8000 records. What type of performance should we expect?
