    Hi everybody,

    I have installed,Tamino 2.3.1.2 on Solaris and at the moment all works fine.
    Now the problem is to restore a db from a backup of a db created on Windows 2000.
    Tamino doesn’t authorize this procedure.
    Do you know if there is a way to performe this step ?
    Can I create a database and use it for different platforms ?

    It is not possible to take a backup from Solaris and restore it on NT. The main problem here is that the backup is a binary file and therefore contains binary information in the byte order of the machine and these two machine have opposite byte orders.

    In theory if two different operating systems run on an architecture of the same byte order it could be possible to do this but I don’t know for sure.
