Send Report by Email
The required capability is Email.
- Navigate to Manage > People > Capabilities.
- Locate the Email capability.
- Assign the necessary permissions (at least Execute and Traverse) to the role containing the authors.
Save Report as External File (Save to File System)
There isn't a single, dedicated capability named Save to File System that you explicitly assign to users in the same way you do Email. The ability to save to a configured file system location is generally governed by:
- The configuration steps.
- The user's general ability to run reports and save output, which is part of basic report execution rights.
- The option appears as a delivery method when a user selects to Run in background (or schedule) a report and chooses Save as an option.
If the authors do not see this option when running a report in the background:
- Ensure they have general permissions to create and manage their own saved report outputs (usually covered by their Authors role).
