My VIOC has 4 NPIV virtual FC adapters. Mapping a LUN from HuaWei N8500 storage for install OS.  I boot from cdrom and I can found a disk from SAN has 8 paths. I can finished AIX installation. I do the test below:

1 Mapping a local disk by vSCSI.  Install AIX to vSCSI disk.  Completed.

2 Add the SAN disk to rootvg and make rootvg mirror. Perform bosboot on SAN disk.  Reduce the local disk from rootvg. Change the bootlist to SAN disk.

3 Reboot the VIOC

4 Boot failure. The message " Can not found boot image...............press Ctrl+C to SMS..................."

I thinks the Strorage N8500 from HuaWei can used for data vg in AIX, but It can not suppot AIX SAN boot.

Change your zoning so that you only have 4 paths to the boot disk.
