  • 1.  Samba 4.12.10-1 msdfs link read errors re-introduced ?

    Samba 4.12.10-1 cannot display/read msdfs links - generating 'math routine'  errors reading msdfs links. 

    Appears to be same error that was fixed 10/25/2018  in 4.6.16  "uploaded Samba-4.6.16 which addresses the latest CVEs and the msdfs links issue"

    samba debug log message:

    smbd_dirptr_lanman2_mode_fn: Couldn't stat [share1] (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.)


    samba.conf settings: 

    [global]

           host msdfs = yes

    [dfs]

           comment         = Data automount directory msdfs

           path           = /var/lib/server-74/data

           browseable     = Yes

           msdfs root     = yes

           read only       = No

    > ls -l /var/lib/server-74/data

    lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     system           46 May 26 2020 share1 -> msdfs:server.corp.domainxxxx.com\data_share1

    Thanks for reporting the issue. 
    There were lot of code changes in the new releases. So that could have introduced this. 
    Working on a fix. Probably this week or next week a fixed samba will be available in Toolbox.

    We are unable to upload the rpms to Toolbox because the upload infra is down because of US winter storm. 
    Hopefully will be able to upload next week.
