RS/6000 7043-140 - Can I upgrade to 36gb SCSI drives?

We need more disk space. We have one 7044-170 with 18GB drive doing a dedicated job, and I think we were able to cable that drive cabled to one of the 7043-170 systems to copy some files.

First question, can we upgrade the 7043-140 and 7044-170 systems to IBM 36GB SCSI drives? IBM publications say "yes" to the 7044-170, but do not mention the 7043-140. But, since the 7043's are a few years older than the 7044 maybe the docs were not updated, and I was wondering what the "real" facts are. Any AIX or hardware firmware issues???

So I think the only way to figure it out is to give it a try,
You'll need to connect the 36GB Scsi disk to the AIX (7043-140), and before moving the data see if you can create a VG and FS, etc.

By one of my colleague experience, its should work, but you'll need a Scsi Disk with 68Pin and not an ultra 320 disk.

    Hope its help.
