  • 1.  RPM packages requirement to be uploaded urgently on AIX toolbox

    As Bullfreeware.com will be closed on 1st March, 2022. Need libstdc and libgcc specific packages to be uploaded to AIX toolbox for project work.

    Following are the rpm packages with their versions that need to be uploaded urgently on the tool:-
    libstdc++-4.9.2-1.aix7.1.ppc.rpm
    libstdc++-4.9.2-1.aix6.1.ppc.rpm
    libgcc-4.9.2-1.aix7.1.ppc.rpm
    libgcc-4.9.2-1.aix6.1.ppc.rpm

    Is there any replacement site like Bullfreeware.com that I can use for my project.
    Please let me know asap if they can't be uploaded to AIX Toolbox. Thank you.

    Hi Ananya,
    These packages can not be uploaded on AIX toolbox, they are very old and we are not going to compile them and publish.
    I don't think this stream of gcc is still under support by community and hence it does not make sense to publish.
    Also we can not just publish binary rpms from other source to AIX toolbox. 
    If you just need rpms then better you download it from bullfreeware and keep it locally. 
    Also generally gcc libraries (runtime) are backward compatible so hopefully the latest gcc runtime available on AIX toolbox should work for you. 
    But you may want to first test that as there is big version gap between what you are using vs what is on AIX toolbox.

    Ananya,

    perzl.org also has those legacy versions, but since they're different maintainers, they could be compiled differently.  But as Sanket has mentioned, it would be wise to update to a newer version.  IBM's toolbox makes sense since they have more support resources.
