the Issue I have is like this:

Customer has a P550 server with one partition he wants to test the hot swap PCI feature for all installed PCI cards. He has the following PCI adapters installed (HBA, NIC, Graphics). We did test the hot swap feature on both HBA and NIC adapters and it passed and worked fine, but regarding to the Graphics adapter the test couldnt pass because the adapter is busy and we couldnt un-configure it or move the console to any other port.

Can anybody please send me any document or the best practice procedure to un-configure and remove a hot swap Graphics adapter?

FYI the graphices adapter type is GXT135P, feature number 2849.

    Mnay Thanks

If you are using your machine as a server then running a graphics adapter is a terrible waste of your computing power. I would strongly, recommend not having a graphics card in a server. If you need X Windows, use remote X Windows on a workstation or PC or better yet something like VNC. then it can be stopped to save CPU cycles once you are done

If you are using the machine as a workstation - power it down and yank the card out.

I don't know anyone that has tried unconfiguring X Windows on a live machine to get the graphics out. It has not accured to anyone that any body would what to do that!! Now I notice you are refering to hot-plug rather than Dynamic LPAR. I am not sure the graphics card is even hot-plugable - it is stated any where that it is hot-plugable? I will have to ask around.
