It is possible to install an RSA adapter into an x335/HMC? Will the HMC SW handle it? How about the BMC on the x335? Are any remote mgmt options supported?

And of course, the Admin reports the HMC did hang today...

    Thanks.

Warning: HMC is running linux OS if you do the power cycle without proper shutdown. You may get into trouble.

I doubt IBM will support the HMC with an RSA and I'm sure the HMC code will not suport the RSA but that doesn't mean it won't allow you to reboot the machine with it.

The HMC code may just skip the adapter, fine if it does not cause the code a problem and should you need to reboot without access to the HMC interface this could be the way to go.

Considering pSeries machines are often managed remotely, in DR data centres, etc. this would be a handy feature.

Log a support call and ask. If they say 'not supported' then raise a DCR and let us know, we'll all raise support calls and apply for your DCR to encourage them to sort it out....

    Just my 2 cents.
