I want to perform a concurrent upgrade of the above system to the latest level SF240_338 remotly. I am aware that this can be done with the help of command "updlic",but have never done that.

I want to know how to transfer the firmware microcode to the HMC. This HMC does not have access to internet. Also I want to know how to use the commands in /hmcrbin, /sbin etc.

    With regards
    Kuntal

I've talked to IBM about other methods such as mountpoint, disk, etc that are documented in infocenter but apparently these only work with the GUI/WebSM and not on the command line.

You won't be able to access most commands on the HMC unless you break into its Linux shell or you get temporary password from IBM that is only good for 24 hours. Its an appliance and they don't want you mucking around in it.
