    Hi 

    I am looking to create a report that compares sales figures based on a selected calendar period. I have developed a sales model using relative dates, but I am facing difficulties in meeting the following requirements. For instance, if the current month is April,

    I want to compare my sales figures with the same month of the previous year (which can be done using Relative Date Calendar).

    Additionally, I want to compare the current year's sales figures (sum of sales from January to April) with the same period of the previous year.

    These selection is dynamic and based on the calendar date selection.

    Can anyone help me with how I can achieve the second scenario using Relative Calendar?

    1. Set relative period to April (_as_of_date global parameter)
    2. Using YTD and Prior YTD for your kpi

    Hi Jean Phillipe,

     

    Have a look at this article: https://pmsquare.com/analytics-blog/2020/1/10/creating-custom-calendars-in-cognos-analytics-111.

     

    It will assist you to create new relative time periods and even whole new calendars.

     

    In this case it looks as if it will not be necessary to create a new calendar, but only to add a new filter to the Gregorian Calendar Data Module.
