I tried searching the net; but have not gotten a definitive
answer. Most of the answers seems to indicate that it will NOT
install on a 9114-275. And IBM say that it does NOT install
on the system. However; I have read some comments that seem to
indicate that it does.
I have replaced the 9114-275 with a 8203-E4A system as my primary
system. Instead of recycling the 9114-275 I thought I would turn
it into a Linux box. Then I can recycle the PC I now have. I only
need the PC to run EXCEL. Since Open Office comes with Red Hat Linux,
I will be able to import all my EXCEL files.
If not Red Hat Linux; is there any other supported version of
Linux that can be installed on a 9114-275?
Oh! Has anyone successfully installed FC 2738 or 2737 into a
9114-275 (USB adapter)?
These adapters seem to be in the right H/W I/F configuration to
be installed in one of the short PCI slots. I was hopping to use it
to communicate with a printer and a flash drive if I could get a
version of Linux installed on the system.
Bye,
Dwight
P.S.
My intent is to have only Linux in running in the system. That is;
I am not planning to have a partitioned system with AIX and Linux.
