RDi 9.8 Fix Pack command line/silent install

  • 1.  RDi 9.8 Fix Pack command line/silent install

    Posted Mon November 11, 2024 11:36 AM

I'm looking to automate the install and update of RDi 9.8. I'm looking for a way to install the fix packs via command line to automate the update process. Has anyone had any luck or thoughts on how to accomplish this?

    Thanks

    Hi Matthew,

RDI 9.8 is quite easy to install (probably you know this already), but it is a simple "unzip and create shortcut to RDI.EXE"

    The site also mentions this:

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/rdfi/9.8.0?topic=installing-silent-install-product
    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/rdfi/9.8.0?topic=installing-silent-install-license-activation-kit  (for activation)

As for the update, the easiest is simple "Help -> Check for Updates" seems the way to go.

I do assume this might not work in your environment.

Also piqued my interest in this so I have done a bit of digging, one needs to "play with p2.director" to do Installable Units which could be way challenging for the average person to grok.

A Suggestion would be to reach out to the team from Helpsystems/Fortra perhaps with your use case?
