I've noticed that if you set a wildcard cert in pdsrv it requires you to set it as default even if it's the only cert present.  This will manifest itself in all kinds of closed server connection errors and connection resets (depending on browser) until you go back and check cert & root certs (and see they are fine) and finally notice someone forgot to set the cert as default.

I think that behavior is probably ok if there is more than one personal cert, but if there is a single personal cert it should default to that one automatically.
