Hi,
I am having a problem and i am wondering if anybody might know what is happening.
I recently installed November 2005 XL C/C++ Enterprise Edition V7.0 for AIX PTF and since then i am having problems.
Basically before the installation i built a shared library(called A.so) which links in another shared library(B.so) and this particular library worked fine when main programs linked against it.
Now since installing the patches I have rebuilt this library(called A.so)and noticed that some symbols that are needed from B.so are missing in the dump -Tv output of the library. Now i have changed nothing in the code that might relate to the symbols it is complaining about.
Now there is lot more dependencies than A and B but this sums it up simply.
I have noticed that if i rebuild A and B and other dependent libraries then all works fine but i still notice that the dump output of A.so is not the same as when it was built before the patch was installed.
Does anyone know if symbol table has changed with this particular release?
Is there any tips ,apart from taking out the patch , on how to get this working ?
I would have thought that all new libraries and binary & backward compatible.
Thanks in advance for any help and should you need more information then please let me know.
Clive
