    we have 2 P740 machines (lets call them A & B) with 6 LPARS each.

    On P740-A , the first LPAR is for SAP-Apps & second LPAR is for SAP-DB instance.
    On P740-B , the first LPAR is for SAP-App-HA & second LPAR is for SAP-DB-HA instance.

    my question.. is the above method ok where the Apps & DB is kept on seperate LPARS ?
    or should the Apps & DB instances be merged onto a single LPAR ( but on seperate instances)

    some of our consltants say that merging is better as it takes away the overhead of the packet moving to & fro the 2 LPARs..

    some say keeping them seperate is better as each have their own complications..

    any help is highly appreciated..
