  • 1.  PGP Public Key Encryption Error

    Posted Thu November 20, 2003 06:33 PM

We have been using PGP to encrypt some files ftp’d into our partner servers for a while. This week our pgp is started throwing some error with the value 21 which means public key encryption error. We are creating a PGP script and call the script using runtime to encrypt the data. No changes to our code, but our unix group installed eTrust on our box this is the only change I could think of happened to our box. Does anyone had this problem before?.

    Thanks,
    Muru.

Are you using a command-line version of PGP or one with a Java API? If the later, I would suspect that the new eTrust software put some classes or jars on the classpath that are conflicting with your PGP installation.

We are using command-line version of PGP. I am sure nothing else got installed on that box after that. I am not getting detailed error message either. Still working with the Unix group to find out the problem.

    Thanks,
    Muru.
