Probably "No" but need some more info on what you are trying to do.
If you are trying to get next month to show cube values, you need to derive a member in a dimension. Typically people put attributes into the model for Previous Period, Next period and use business rules to look those up.
If you are deriving a value into a string measure, you possibly still want to use attributes rather than long-winded composite functions to try do this.
The main difference is that TM1 is not relational so would not necessarily need functions like add_month etc.
