  • 1.  Passport Advantage Order Numbers ?

    Posted Tue March 03, 2015 05:45 PM

I'm trying to tell the difference between these two different order numbers for the RD&T on Passport Advantage Express:

IBM Rational Development and Test Environment for System z Authorized User Single Install for System z License + SW Subscription & Support 12 Months (D0M1VLL) x,xxx..00
IBM Rational Development and Test Environment for System z Authorized User Single Install for System z Initial Fixed Term License + SW Subscription & Support 12 Months (D0M21LL) y,yyy.00

and then what are all these others in the April 24, 2012 Announcement letter (and why no numbers in the Oct 6, 2014 letter):

Ratl Dev & Test Envirnmt Per Au U Sgl Inst for Sys z E0D6CLL

    Annual SW S&S Rnwl

Ratl Dev & Test Envirnmt Per Au U Sgl Inst for Sys z SW D0M1WLL

    S&S Reinstate 12 Mo

Ratl Dev & Test Envirnmt Per Au U Sgl Inst for Sys z E0D6GLL

    Subsq FT Lic+S&S 12 Mo

I'm interested in the "single seat" (not floating and not Processor Value Unit) but I can't tell what is different, other than the price,

on the two above items.  And I also need to know what is the renewal order number for the second and subsequent year.

Passport Advantage Express doesn't seem to have the E0Dxxx or D0M1WLL numbers available when I try to search for them.

    Thanks.

To level set, as a potential new RD&T customer, you only have new license part numbers available to you to purchase. That is why you do not see reinstatement, renewal, or subsequent fixed term part numbers.

So- the different between the two new license part numbers:

    • D0M1VLL is a perpetual license part number; this means that the product can be used for perpetuity.
    • D0M21LL is a fixed term license part number; this means that the product can be used for a term of a year

So what you purchase depends on your intended use of the product (for a long time (perpetual) or for a year or two (fixed term)).

Once you purchase the product, after a year, you should renew support and subscription of the product- that is what the Exxxxxx part numbers are for- renewal of the product. The part number that is used depends on the new license part number that was purchased initially.

The remaining part number- D0M1WLL- is a reinstatement part number. It is used in cases when a customer lets their license lapse (i.e. they don't renew). To obtain support and subscription, they must reinstate.
