Yes, the switch is available in PA for Excel 80, this allows for opt-in when ready (for retraining etc), and it will eventually become the PA for Excel default.
Other thing I'll mention here that's important is there are some Improvements expected to be delivered with PA Workspace 80, so if you're running PA for Excel against an older Workspace version, you may find some rough edges.
For the best start on this, I suggest having SC80+ of both parts.
