Is there any documentation on how to create a PTF that will install in the correct filesystem directories a UNIX application (i.e. vim)?

Can you offer more details on what you mean by "install in the correct filesystem directories [for] a UNIX application (i.e. vim)"?  Is vim SMP/E managed?  If so, then presumably there are one or more DDDEF entries which identify the directories into which vim is installed.  Other than the basics of using the ++HFS modification control statement (MCS), the use of DDDEFs and similar, I'm not aware of any specific documentation on this subject.  Do you have a more specific question, or are you having trouble?
