Outputting non-ASCII characters in miniEngine

  • 1.  Outputting non-ASCII characters in miniEngine

Hi. As the TMS 1.1.1 README states, there are problems on outputting non-ASCII characters (accents, umlauts, etc) on a miniEngine application that uses XSLTs, that make the application not able to handle them. It says also JSPs; I have to check that since I don’t see why they should be affected.

By the way, the problem has nothing to do with “reading non-ASCII characters from files” - just any non-ASCII characters that is output as data by the app doesn’t work, wherever it comes from.

It is a Covigo bug, being the adviced workaround to use native views. Since I think native views are just a bad thing (see other post), just in case anyone needs a solution for that, know that I’ve got an unofficial, patched miniEngine.jar that works.

    Regards
