  • 1.  Output window copy & paste issue

    Posted Wed August 24, 2022 08:41 AM
    I am copying & pasting several output items from one output window ('Output 1) to another that already includes output (Output 2). The items from Output 1 are to be pasted in-between items that already exist in Output 2.

    When I do this, the pasted items in the navigation pane of Output 2 appear staggered (the output from every new procedure is indented by one level). The navigation pane of the 'source' output window is shown in the attached screenshot 'Output_1.jpg', and the pane in the target window after pasting is shown in 'Output_2.jpg'.

    I am currently using SPSS 28 under MS Windows 10 Prof. 64-bit 21H2. The issue has, however, been around for many of the previous versions of SPSS. How can this behavior be avoided?

    Hi Frank,

    I guess a lot will depend upon how you are going about this in the interface.

    Assuming you've done something like:

    in Output 1-

    Edit -> Select All -> Pivot Tables

    Right-click -> Copy

    in Output 2-
    Click the location where you'd like to have the copied tables added
    Right-click -> Paste After

    You should see the pasted objects at the same level of indent as the location you clicked.
