Thanks again for responding again.
I have already checked that I had the correct C2PCUST. This sysplex has a separate C2PCUST per LPAR. I have checked the required C2PCUST is specified. It looks good to me.
You ask about the REPORT member. I assume you are talking about the C2PCUST member that has the same name as the configuration set. If so, I have examined this and sure enough I find my email id against at least one alert, and formatted similarly to your note above, but with a CC as well.
I have re-verified and then performed a REFRESH prior to running the job. Same results....

Hi lennie,
Setting a different kind of destination on the category level overrules the one set for the entire set.
Setting one for an individual alert will overrule the one set for a group (if one is set) or else the destination for the entire set.
The only 2 things i can think off are
Is the C2PCUST you use in the C2PJRECI the same one used in the Alert UI ?
Check the actual REPORT member. Does it really contain something like this ?
/* Including member C2PS1401 for destination type MAIL */
newlist type=SMF,
mt=`rene_van_til@nl.ibm.com`,
from=`&jobname &system <rene@tvt8018.com>`,
outputformat=emaildefault,
name=MAIL1401 header=no nopage
cheers

Rene,
Thanks for replying.
I do not have that option set. I have tried this on more than one system, with the same result. I fear I may be doing something wrong, but I cannot see what it is.
I see that email addresses can be set at the configuration level, at the category level, and at the individual alert level. I have assumed that if set at the alert level they do not need anything specified at the other levels. Is this correct?
What other tests or diagnostics can I try?
Lennie

Hi lennie,
So this job should send an email to every email address a list of which alerts they can receive. If you have alerts with destination email selected then a 4 (No recipients) is strange. The only thing i can think of is that you also selected " Redirect e-mails to C2RSMTP DD" too and in effect no recipients.
cheers

Subject: No recipients defined for set aaaaaa
Greetings,
I am attempting to run the C2PJRECI job as documented in the zSecure Alert manual near the start of Chapter 4.
I n each attempt the job ends with a Return code 4 and the message,
No recipients defined for set aaaaaa
(where aaaaaa is my Alert configuration).
There are multiple alerts set with email addresses, so I must have something else wrong.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Lennie
