    The intellistation does a correct bootp, but then i get 0c45 in het led.
    On the nimol server i looked at the log and i get:

    aixhost nimol:,info=LED 610: mount nimol.lab.local:/export/aix/aix610/bosinst.data /NIM_BOSINST_DATA,
    aixhost nimol:,info=LED 610: mount nimol.lab.local:/export/aix/aix610/lpp_source /SPOT/usr/sys/inst.images,
    aixhost nimol:,info=LED 610: mount nimol.lab.local:/export/aix/aix610/image.data /NIM_IMAGE_DATA,
    aixhost nimol:,info=,
    aixhost nimol:,-R,success,aixhost,
    aixhost nimol:,info=extract_data_files,
    aixhost nimol:,info=query_disks,
    aixhost nimol:,info=extract_diskette_data,
    aixhost nimol:,info=setting_console,
    aixhost nimol:,-R,failure,aixhost,

    In my bosinst.data file i have:

    CONSOLE = Default
    PROMPT = yes

    So i should get a prompt, telling me what console i should use.

    Anyone an idea what i am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

    CONSOLE = /dev/vty0

    I always have PROMPT = yes.

    Could it be that i have a graphics card in my system, that i need to specify a different value?

    you can also try with low function terminal /dev/lft0 mentioned here:

I forgot how frustrating it can be to be a sys admin for AIX servers.....
