when trying to update fileset about 460 of them, I takes such a long time that my session
times out. I am using a dedicated network not goint via a firewall, but it's still slow.
In the past I used NIM but on a P690 managing lpar's so it was pretty fast to update.
But now I have to configure NIM environment with Standalone systems.
My cards are set to autonegociate on the NIM and the client.

I should problably set my cards to 100FD.
Just wondering if there is something else I can do to increase the transfer rate.
To get my cards to 100FD is not a problem but I have to get the switche people involved
to configure there switch ports to 100FD.
I just want to know before I do this if I can do something else and the network here does not
    do GB.

i.e. I just had my client set at 100/full but the switch was set for auto/auto for Gb connectivity. At auto/auto, I just did in 5 mins what had taken 20 hours.

If the speeds don't match NIM is slow.
Make sure your subnet mask is correct also.
