The announcement letters highlight the features, that I pasted below. But I would be concerned with 5.4.0 technically has no real support other than going to 5.4.1. 5.4.1, though nothing official yet, is probably going to go out of support in the next 12-18 months. But then again, seeing that you are at 5.2, that has been out of support for 2+ years leads me to believe that support or not, may not be an issue.
