Ok, I updated my AIX version to 5.3 tl8 only to find out that it's not supported by my firmware on my model 7028-c64(it spits out an error message "eads-freeze-state?, unknown wordDEFAULT CATCH!, throw-code=ffffffffffffff94 " and then a bunch of stuff about deadbeef, and drops me to a "0 >" boot prompt. I downloaded the newest firmware and burned it to cdromm but when I go to the boot menu and select "1. Service Processor Setup Menu" and then option "7. reprogram flash EPROM" it then tells me it's unsupported. I'm totally at a loss and can't think of any other ways to work around/fix this.
I have another box(7038-6c4) is it possible to upgrade the firmware on that and switch out the service processor?
I don't have an hmc installed and am doing this over a console, and I don't think I can call ibm as I'm sure it's out of support.
TIA!
