I have tried deleting the hdisks, dars and the dacs using rmdev -dl, but it still doesn't work.

Any help on how to get the mpio package uninstalled is appreciated.

AIX respects 'host attach. script' (if there is any) and will not use mpio unless host attach. is there and is non-mpio. With RDAC on AIX 5.3 and DS4k you should not see mpio disks....

For IBM storage like DS6k, DS8k and SVC you'll not use only host attach. script but most probably also some multipathing SW like SDD (non-mpio) or SDDPCM (comes on top of mpio). Similar with EMC, HP and Hitachi boxes.
For a DS4k, RDAC comes with initial AIX installation, so no need for a host. attach there. Be aware that also DS4k can be switched to MPIO in later AIX 5.3 TL versions and AIX 6.1 but some manual tasks needs to be done for this.

Exactly! AIX5.3 has native rdac support for a DS4k array. I had initially configured it to have MPIO manage the disks, but now I need only rdac to manage the disks/path for some negative testing and I am not able to get the MPIO off the host.

Any other suggestions?

The issue now is; I could get the DS4k disks migrated to RDAC. But I am not able to identify which class of arrays the following disk belongs to (in bold below).
