It is said that when the size of the file is small then it is recommended to use memory based workspace.

Please let me know what is the approximate size of the input file upto which the memory based workspace works fine.

I have a situation wherein at a specified time in a day the map has to ftp a particular file from another application. This ftp takes palce twice a week. On both occasions the map runs fine.. its ftps the file to our wtx server but later that particular system stops running.. so that the files are not sent to the destination path and we manually send the files on these occassions.

    Please suggest/advice on this.

    Thanks in advance.

Memory usage depends on the free memory on the server, 32bit OS vis 64 bit, complexity of the map and number of input / output cards.

You should be fine with anything less than 100MB though.

Do you mean the FTP sometimes works and sometimes does not?
    Is the file size consistent?
You should be able to measure the memory usage of the launcher - e.g. possibly it's a memory leak.
Do you have multiple systems running under the same launcher - possibly it's another system causing the memory issue?
What makes you think it's a memory problem? What error do you get?
What is your idle FTP setting in the dtx.ini?

The map is time triggered. The function of the map is to download a total os 7 files at a particular time from a different server using FTP and sent the same file to a another application.

    size of the files:

    file1:1900KB
    file2:72KB
    file3:43KB
    file4:49KB
    File5:7KB
    file6:800KB
    file7:730KB

The size of the same file may vary by a very less value, say 1 KB.

The .msl file triggers the map at 3AM to download the file from a different server to WTX server.

We monitor the .msl files status using Management console. There was only one log file created at 3AM(when msl stopped running)by management console.

The log file says "System not responding". This is the only error message i have right now.

When i encountered that the msl file is not running i confirmed from my team that the regular files didnt reach their system.

Hence i manually sent those files to their prod system.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Are other systems also affected?
Have you raised this with IBM?

No other systems are affected. They are all running fine. Only this particular system is behaving in this manner. And that too only during the this ftp process.

We haven't raised this with IBM.

    1) have u enabled log settings in the dtx.ini.
2)if u r monitoring using the management console , try to take a snapshot & create the .mss file
lastly if the launcher is crashing u might have to create a ticket with IBM.

Since how long are you facing this issue.
