  • 1.  Moving All Hardware Power 5 to HMC Managed

    Was able to add Managed system to 7042-CR5 system but no managed profile. How do I create managed profile as create profile is not an option currently.

    Tried Rebuild Data but no profile was created

    Dear Dave

    Have you ensured the HMC SW release and POWER5 server's firmware release are at compatible levels? For example, HMC Version 8 and later do not support POWER5 systems and you may need version 7.7.9.

    According to https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/server-firmware-and-hmc-levels, 

    11/06/2008 GA7 SP9 SF240_362_201 Note: This level is available for operating system-managed systems in place of SF240_358. On HMC managed systems, this level is available via the HMC, yet equivalent to SF240_358. See Recommended Fixes or contact your service provider with any questions.

    System is at 223. Now trying to find 358

    You can use the CR5 for Power5 hardware , but I think you will also have to use 7.7.9 HMC code
