Has anyone successfully mounted a CIFS share from a Windows 2008 box (with or without a Windows domain)? AIX version is 5.3 TL07.
We upgraded a file server from 2003 to 2008 and noticed that a particular CIFS share will no longer mount. We have a few other CIFS mounts which connect to other servers (still running 2003) and those are still working just fine. Any attempt to mount the share from the 2008 server results in the standard CIFS error message which tells you to check the nsmb0 device availability.
I'm guessing Microsoft changed something in the SMB or security in Windows Server 2008. I've tried the latest bos.cifs* packages to no avail.
I've also tried mounting the same CIFS share from an AIX 6.1 LPAR with the latest patches - same results...it doesn't mount. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
