    How are you trying to restore the mksysb?

    How was the p6-550 installed?

    If the p6 was not installed with all device support then you will probably need AIX install media at the same level, or a NIM lppsource at the same level, to pick up any missing device drivers needed by the p520 that were not installed on the p6 system.

    P6-550 was installed using standard image with TL8sp1 lpp source from the NIM server.
    Daily mksysb backups are taken on the tape.

    I am going to those mksysb to restore it on a P-520. Will that work?
