  • 1.  mkdev -l cd0 fails with method error

    cd0 Defined 0.1.2.3 USB DVD-COMBO Drive

    we want to change the status from defined to available ...

    this is happening on a JS22 blade running AIX5.2 on blade center H

    Does any one know what the issue is ...

    Please check If the cd/dvd Drive is Assigned to this Particular Blade from Mangement Module of BladeCenter. for eg.. say your JS22 blade is in slot#4 (Blade4) ,Make sure Blade#4 own's the cd/dvd ROM. you can verify that from Management Module of BladeCenter.

    Next time you could try "cfgmgr -l cd0" instead of deleting cd0 and running a full-fledged cfgmgr.
