  • 1.  Migration to IBM Cloud from PA Local

    Posted 27 days ago

    Hi,

I am new to IBM cloud.

    Outbound feed

Currently in PA local, TI generates the file on the data server path ( where tm1 is running) and calls a batch script (Winscp) using ExecuteCommand function in the same TI to transfer the file to target server. My question is that as Winscp or any other FTP set up is not available on the data tier on cloud, how can we achieve this functionality of transferring the outbound file to target on-prem server? I have been reading online about IBM Cognos Command Center tool which does this functionality. Does this tool come with RDP which IBM provides us in the welcome kit or do we need to install this tool on the separate on-prem server to operate centrally? Please suggest if there are any other ways to achieve this.

    Inbound Feed

Currently in PA local, one of the inbound feeds is PGP encrypted using public key. Our TI process calls a batch script to decrypt the file before loading.

Please suggest how to achieve this functionality in IBM Cloud.

    Jaganathan,

    The IBM documentation has: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=encryption-setting-up-pgp-decryption

A colleague of mine wrote the following which should still be valid and has a lot more detail:  https://quebit.com/askquebit/ibm-planning-analytics-and-pgp/

We use an on premise DW to run an on prem script which synchs the SFTP folder between On Prem and the IBM cloud:

    1. TM1 runs a SQL Job on SQL Server DW.
    2. SQL Server job runs a windows scheduled task.
    3. Windows scheduled task runs a Python script which synchronizes the on prem and cloud folders via SFTP.
