You cannot "migrate" different operating systems. These both run on different hardware with different base code. Are you trying to move an application?

If you are only trying to "migrate" OSes, it cannot be done.

I want to migrate the applications from windows server to Aix server?

    How can I achieve this?

As per your previous answer direct migration is not possible.

How can I move my applications from Windows server to AIX server?

Please let me know if I am wrong in anyway?

    Thanks in Advance,

Alright. You're going to really need to provide some details. Like "Step A, I am here, here is what we have right now." and the what you want to go to - "Step B, I have to go to this hardware type and AIX with this application".

Do you have any AIX background? Do you have any Windows background? What application are you migrating?

    I have only Windows background.

    Step A:

I have Lotus Notes domino server running on Windows 2000 server.

I have some intranet applications also running on the Windows server.

    What are the steps involved?

I need to Install Lotus Notes Domino server and other applications to run on AIX server.

What should I need to do?

Please let me know if you need any more information.

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Install Oracle on AIX.

    2. Do an export on Windows and transfer the export files via FTP.

    3. Import the files.

    4. Keep applying the archives through a connector online directly from windows to AIX.

    5. Take a downtime, apply all pending archives.

    6. Bring up the databases on AIX.

What I would recommend is try installing Lotus notes on AIX and then take assistance from IBM directly, to help migrating your database and mailboxes.

For Domino installation and data migration, you will probably want to do some searching and reading from the Domino site:

    Domino home page:
    http://www-142.ibm.com/software/sw-lotus/products/product4.nsf/wdocs/dominohomepage

    Domino Server AIX performance:
    http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/enable/site/peducation/wp/a372/a372.pdf
Also, you mention "some intranet applications" would need to be migrated. This is the big question. Depending on how these are written (C, java, PHP,...), this part could be very time consuming, and require developer expertise to port.
