Hi, Also are the source or target volumes hyperswapped? this can cause issues. you can only mirror non hyperswapped volumes.
Just thought id mention this even though you have fixed the issue because it caught us out once or twice.

Thanks for the reply Ian. We managed to work it out, and it comes down to the 'legacy' remote copy feature being disabled on our new FS7300's. We used the 'chcompatibilitymode' command for remote_copy, and hey-presto MM now works as expected. Thanks.

You can create Change Volumes for Metro Mirror -- it's an additional layer of protection.
Are you certain that now MM Change Volumes have been created on the pairs?

SVC - 8.5.0.10
FS7300 - 8.7.0.2
Hi. We're testing using replication from a SVC cluster to a standalone FS7300 (code versions above), for migration purposes. The partnership has been created and we are attempting to create a Metro Mirror relatioship but keep receiving the following message - 'CMMVC7176E The remote copy relationship could not be added to the consistency group because the cycling modes do not match'. We're finding this a bit confusing because as far as we can tell, cycling modes are used for Global Mirror and not Metro Mirror, and also it mentions consistency group which we are also not trying to use.
Although we are trying to use Metro Mirror, we have tried to create a Global Mirror relationship and get the same message, and also tried using a consistency group which again showed the same error.
Any help would be much appreciated!
