    Posted 12 days ago

Why Switch to Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9?

Businesses wishing to remain competitive in the asset management market would be wise to upgrade from older Maximo versions, such as 7.6.2, to Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.  In a rapidly changing digital environment, MAS 9's more sophisticated features, improved performance, and increased flexibility make it simpler to manage assets effectively.  Here are some reasons to think about the migration:

Key Distinctions Between Maximo 7.6.2 and MAS 9

     1. Better user experience (UX) and user interface (UI)

    • The user experience is elevated with MAS 9.
    • Users can explore and manage tasks more quickly because to its cleaner, more user-friendly design.
    • The software is easier to use because to improved dashboards, mobile compatibility, and streamlined workflows.

     2. Scalability and Performance

    • MAS 9 performs much better than Maximo 7.6.2  when handling massive amounts of data.
    • Accommodate expanding companies and manage rising asset inventories without sacrificing speed thanks to its scalability.

     3. Advanced Reporting and Analytics

    • Better data visibility and analysis are made possible by the improvements made to reporting features .
    • Building on these improvements, MAS 9 provides even more robust analytics capabilities.
    • Better Decision-Making.
    • Improved Asset Performance Insights.

    4. Smooth Integration

    • Third-party solutions, can be more easily integrated with MAS 9.
    • Improves data flow between departments and streamlines operations.

     5. Architecture Focused on the Cloud

    • This makes it simpler for companies to use cloud technologies and extend operations internationally.
    • Greater flexibility.
    • Cost savings.
    • Improved performance.

     In conclusion

By upgrading from Maximo 7.6.2 to MAS 9, you can make sure that your asset management system stays up to date, effective, and ready to support the expansion   of your company.  MAS 9 lays the groundwork for future asset management success with its improved user experience, sophisticated reporting, and cloud             possibilities.

I'm curious about the assumption that I would risk my credentials to copy and post something from ChatGPT.

Regarding your point about Maximo, if you believe that some of the largest clients using Maximo aren't still on version 7.6.2, I can assure you that some of these projects have been running for years, with extensive Java customizations.

In fact, I can name a few examples of clients who are still using the older version.

One of the challenges many Maximo users are facing right now is the need to translate these Java customizations into automation scripts.I've been using MAS 9 and the 7.6X

version, and I just wanted to share my thoughts on some of the features that I found particularly interesting.

I'm curious about what you mean by 'read it before posting.' If you could share what might be wrong with what I wrote, I'd be happy to elaborate if you're interested.

    Regards

The point is that there were no Maximo 7.6.2 version.

Latest Maximo version before MAS was 7.6.1.3, which on 30.09.2025 reached end of support version - so there will be no 7.6.2 for sure :)

I have even tried to search web for Maximo Asset Management 7.6.2, but apparently only ChatGPT and similar AI "creations" have this version available ;)

I have a somewhat different perspective on a few other points you raised, such as:

    • UI - it's just a change, for one user may be better, for another worse - but is it a revolution changing everything? I doubt
    • MAS better for handling massive amount of data? Really? Usually it's a database being bottleneck here - and this remains +/- unchanged within Maximo 7.6.1.3 -> MAS change
    • Integrations? To me - very similar possibilities.

The most important change in MAS is architectural shift, which brings a lot of consequences, both positive and negative - but I miss them in your post.

In general - your post looks like generated from marketing materials, containing wrong information, not providing any details nor examples to provided (controversial) arguments.
