  • 1.  Linux kernel versions?

    Posted Sun March 28, 2004 12:42 AM

    Hi

I’ve been running Tamino 4.1.4 happily on RedHat 8 (kernel 2.4.18-14smp).

However, unrelated to Tamino, this RedHat version crashes from time to time on Dell PowerEdge with Perc3/Di raid controller (see RedHat bugzilla bug 92129).

I’m going to try upgrading the kernel to at least 2.4.22, and possibly 2.6.

Forewarned is forearmed, so I’d be very interested in any experiences (positive or negative) anyone may have had with Tamino on recent linux 2.4 and/or 2.6 kernels.

    thanks

    Jason

    Answering my own questions:

    - RedHat’s 2.4.20-28.8 seems to work okay (tried with Tamino 4.1.4.4) - but haven’t tested extensively

    - kernel 2.4.25 seems to work okay (same qualifications as above).

Haven’t tried any 2.6.x kernel yet.

    cheers,

    Jason

fwiw, 4.1.4.4 seems to work ok with 2.6.5 kernel compiled on RedHat 8.
