    Well the Server might be a demo but each of the install packets has full functional ldap client files. Maybe you need gskit (global security toolkit) filesets installed as well.
    I hate IBM for the fact how well they hide their ldap clients for aix...

    Thanks, that put me on the right track to eventaully finding the ldap.client.rte. it was located on the cdrom and was listed as idsldap. Thanks again.
